Lafarge Africa Plc appoints new CEO


FRI, DEC 20 2019-theG&BJournal-Lafarge Africa Plc has appointed Mr. Khaled Abdelaziz El Dokani as its new CEO. El Dokani who joined Lafarge Holcim in 2004 becomes the new CEO after stints in several countries including Iraq (Country CEO-2018-2019), Qatar (2016-2018), Saudi Arabia (2013–2016), Vice-President for Business Development and Strategy  North  America (2010-2013) and CFO in Lafarge Algeria (2004 –2010).

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Alexandria University, Egypt.

His appointment follows the departure of Mr. Michel Puchercos from the Company as the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. Puchercos tenure will expire with effect from the 17th of January 2020.

Puchercos served the Company as an Executive Director on the Board since the 1st of April 2016.

‘’During his tenure as the GMD/CEO, he implemented a successful turnaround plan for the business  addressing the legal, financial and management structure of the Company, Health & Safety  improvements and the implementation of new operating processes,’’ the Company said in a statement included in their notification to The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the investing public of the development.
