SAT, DEC 07 2019-theG&BJournal-Manchester City 1-2 Manchester United. Manchester City was left to reflect on what might have been after an incredible derby day at Manchester.

Marcus Rashford scored from the penalty spot 22 minutes into the game. Anthony Martial sealed it six minutes later with a stunning effort that silenced the already stunned City fans-totally merited goal.

Manchester United played with gusto, pace and on breathtaking counter attack formation, resolute in defence and happy to snap at the heels of United with every opportunity. Wan Bissaka was outstanding, keeping Raheem Sterling quiet throughout the game.

Rashford who has equalled his best scoring effort in a season, called it ‘’a tough win.’’ Understandably so, given the immense pressure United applied on resumption of play in the second half.

Nicolas Otamendi’s late headed goal ignited City goal appetite but that was it. United’s quality was convincing all through the 90 minutes of play.
