FRI 26 FEB, 2021-theGBJournal- The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have intensified search efforts to rescue students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Zamfara State abducted by bandits in the early hours of Friday, deploying two surveillance helicopters as part of a coordinated search and rescue operations.

The deployment of the helicopters, according to the NPF, is in addition to the personnel of Operation Puff Adder 11 earlier deployed to the State to support efforts by the Command to combat banditry, kidnapping and other related crimes.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) M.A Adamu condemned the kidnapping calling it ‘’barberic and callous,’’ and assured that the Police and other security forces will not relent until the abducted students are successfully rescued and reunited with their families.

According to the NPF, the joint rescue operation is being carried out by the Police, Military and other members of the law enforcement community with support from State Government and other stakeholders.

The IGP called for calm and urged members of the public, particularly the people of Zamfara State, not to hesitate in availing the Police and law enforcement community with useful information that can assist in the rescue of the abducted school girls.
