THUR 06 MAY, 2021-theGBJournal- ‘’Businesses in South Africa can now accept payments online using Paystack,’’ said the tech company as it reveals its foray into the South Africa market today.

The company said it ran a pilot in South Africa over the past six months and worked very closely with incredible developers and business owners.

‘’They helped us appreciate the local commerce landscape and deepen our understanding of your needs. We also helped hundreds of businesses-tech start-ups, ecommerce stores, agencies and creators- get paid online, and built out our team in South Africa to better serve you’’

According to Paystack, out of the box, South African businesses and developers automatically get easy, super-fast onboarding with no tedious paperwork, well-documented APIs, plugins and integrations with ecommerce platforms and responsive, empathetic support.

Paysack was recently acquired by a US-based company, Stripe, for $200 million. The company currently has over 60,000 customers and boasts of 50% of all online payments in Nigeria.

Shola Akinlade, Paystack CEO reckons that South Africa is one of the continent’s most important markets, and the launch in the country is a significant milestone in their mission to accelerate commerce across Africa.

‘’We are excited to continue building the financial infrastructure that empowers ambitious businesses in Africa, helps them scale, and connects them to global markets,’’ Akinlade said.
